Employer Matching Gifts
Maximize your impact with employer matching gifts
Did you know your donation could go twice as far...without spending an extra dollar?
Many employers offer matching gift programs which allow them to match your contribution to registered charities like Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. It's one of the simplest ways to double or even triple your impact and show your support for life-changing research and patient programs for Canadians affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
What is a matching gift?
A matching gift is a charitable donation made by a company to match an employee’s personal contribution. That means if you donate $100, your employer could contribute another $100, turning your support into $200! That’s twice the impact that can be made by your generosity.
How to get your donation matched
Check if your employer offers a matching gift program
Speak with your HR department or consult your company’s employee giving portal. Ask whether they offer matching gift programs and if Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is an eligible recipient.
You can also use our handy employer matching gift tool to check if your employer offers a matching gift program and what steps you can take to ensure your donation is matched.

Submit the required forms
Once you've made your donation, follow your company’s process to apply for the match. This often includes completing a quick online form or submitting a donation receipt.
Feel free to let us know
To ensure we can track and confirm your employer’s gift, please email our team at donations...crohnsandcolitis...ca and let us know your matching gift is on the way!
Even if you've already made your donation, your gift may still be eligible for matching. Many companies allow employees to submit a match-request weeks, or even months, after the original donation was made.
Please note: some employers may distribute matching funds quarterly or on a set schedule. If you have questions on if your gift was received, please feel free to reach out to us at donations...crohnsandcolitis...ca.
Why it matters
When you participate in a matching gift program, you're not just making a financial contribution, but activating a ripple effect. You’re inviting others to give, engaging your workplace in a cause that affects over 322,000 Canadians (and growing), and offering hope to those affected that cures to these diseases may be possible.
